Goal weight by Christmas!

Yesssssss!  I just finished making a weight chart to write down my weight every Saturday from now until the end of the year, and I filled in my starting weight (172.5, per my weigh-in this morning) and my weekly goals, at a 2-pound-per-week loss.  That will put me at goal weight, 130 pounds, the day after Christmas :)

I saw that and just started smiling.  What better Christmas gift could I give myself than a healthy, fit, strong body?

I have been so depressed and angry and disgusted and frustrated for so long that feeling excited about that was like a jolt.  Helloooo, what is this?  Finally feeling like I can REALLY do this?

After outlining my goals in last night’s post, I signed in this morning and had my first booster note, and such a simple thing made me so happy!  I’ve buried myself in self-doubt and insults.  A comment from someone else made me realize that someone who has never met me has more faith in me than I do, and I need to fix that.

Next I’m going to make a list of rewards, maybe for every 10 pounds lost, to keep my sights on something short-term and work toward something I want.

I just love the idea of a new me for Christmas!!!

The rewards chart is a GREAT Tool :) I have one too. 16 lbs to go and I can spend an insane amount of money on a purse I’ve been eyeballing but not feeling like I could afford. Since I saved $10 for every pound lost, I will have that new purse guilt-free.

Actually most of my goal/rewards involve spending money on myself. Probably a topic for a therapist on why I don’t spend much money on myself otherwise, but feel like I ‘deserve’ it when I’ve set a goal and acheived it. Oh well, still fun, and something to plan and look forward to.

I’ve also picked out the dress I will buy when I’m at goal weight. It’ll probably change 99 times til then, but it’s fun to “window” shop on line for the things that I will ROCK when I’m at goal weight :)

I am the same way! I will not spend money on myself so the idea of earning things I normally wouldn’t buy for myself is so exciting. I would like the rewards to start small and get bigger as I near goal weight (like a lip gloss or something for the first 10 pounds, then maybe clothes as I get closer to goal).

What a splendid idea! I think I am going to take a page from your book and do the same thing!

YAY! It does help to lay out a plan…as long as its reasonable. You CAN do this!

Great plan! I have a pair of Christmas pants that I’m working to fit into by then (shiny red satin pants). Good luck.

I’m at around 25 lbs loss right now; when I hit 30, I’m enrolling in a class through my healthcare provider–it’s $120 for an 8-week weight management course. In my view, 30 lbs absolutely justifies $120! :-)

That’s close to my birthday, so maybe mine could be a birthday present to myself. I would certainly have something to celebrate.

I am shooting for Thanksgiving, but if it’s my birthday, that’s fine too. I am allowing for those weeks that things just don’t go right. It does happen once in a while. So, I allow for it. My husband is in a wheelchair with MD and our life is not perfect, but others have it rough too. We have to think of the haves and not the have nots.
